The 'Intel Cup' National Undergraduate Embedded System Electronic Design Contest Results 2004

    The final judging for the Intel Student Research Contest (ISRC) in China took place October14, 2004 in Beijing, China. Judges for the contest included Intel Senior Fellows and researchers from Intel China Research Center. After the results were finalized, Intel China President WT Tan and Intel Senior Fellows Justin Rattner and Kevin Kahn presented Ping Ying with the top prize during a ceremony at Intel China Research Center in Beijing. Winners won Intel® CentrinoTM processor-based IBM laptops.

    Ping won the ISRC for her extensive research in the area of image processing with her project entitled "Cluster Based Real-Time Rendering System for Large Terrain Dataset." Graduated in July, Ping now is a master student in computer science and engineering at Zhejiang University

    This year's ISRC in China attracted 24 undergraduate students from the 10 top universities in the PRC. The 18 finalists whose proposals passed the first round of competition had nine months to complete their projects. To help keep them on course, each student was matched up with a technical advisor from Intel's Corporate Technology Group (CTG) labs in Beijing or Intel China Software Center in Shanghai. They were then invited to Beijing to present their individual research work to the panel of judges.
