Design Squad
Get Kids interested in Engineering with Hands-on Interactive Projects

Design Squad* is a reality TV show produced by PBS where kids compete in a series of engineering challenges. The top prize in the competition is a $10,000 scholarship. Intel Foundation's sponsorship of Design Squad cultivates an environment for kids to appreciate why engineering, math and science skills are important for their future success in the competitive global economy.

Design Squad shows kids that engineering can be fun, exciting and rewarding. The Design Squad approach to engineering shows kids how to apply their knowledge of math and science while using their collaborative, creativity and problem solving skills.

You can share the excitement of engineering by using the Design Squad to compliment your existing curriculum or after school program or follow the Design Squad planner to hold a Design Squad event.

Educator's Guide

The Design Squad Educator's Guide, designed for use in informal education programs, provides in-depth instructions for four Design Squad activities targeted for 5th to 8th graders. There's even a version in Spanish. The guide includes teaching strategies, science and engineering concepts, and group management tips.
