IBM and Intel have made publicly available the design specifications for the IBM eServer® BladeCenter™ platform. The specifications allow hardware vendors to more easily develop and build BladeCenter compatible products and participate in the rapidly growing blade server market. The opening of the specifications continues the two companies' commitment of building a robust ecosystem of products that OEMs expect when deploying the Intel® Enterprise Blade Server system.

The design specifications are intended to enable companies to develop and build compatible networking switches, blade adapter cards, and appliance and communications blades. Hardware developers can now more easily develop and build compatible blade products and participate in the rapidly growing blades market served by the IBM eServer® BladeCenter™ and Intel Enterprise Blade Server system.

For the Intel OEM, the Intel Enterprise Blade Server product line offers, with minimal investment, a robust blades roadmap to take advantage of the growing blades market.
