Hardware-Assisted IEEE 1588* Implementation in the Intel® IXP46X Product Line White Paper
This document describes a hardware-assisted IEEE 1588* implementation in the IXP46X product line of network processors. An overview of the 1588 standard is presented, and the general pros and cons of hardware- versus software-oriented 1588 implementations is discussed.
