Bringing real-time information to people who need it is critical in the healthcare industry. RadiSys, a finalist in the Showcase, partnered with Right Hand Technologies to develop a customizable, small form factor platform for medical device manufacturers which can combine real time OS support for life sustaining and other determinism applications with a general purpose OS for GUI and other interface application support—all on one chipset—the Intel® Core™ Duo processor.

Not only does this platform eliminate the need for two independent processors, it's built around theT2500U Com Express Module* which provides Com E Module flexibility and future proofs the CPU and chipset, offering complete carrier and IO customization.

The working prototype developed by RadiSys is a medical application that runs real time EKG diagnostic data via RadiSys' OS9 on one core and Linux for GUI support on the other core. It runs on a RadiSys Procelerant COM Express Module* featuring the Intel® Core™ Duo processor.
