MEN Micro Elektronik GmbH, with its global office located in Nuremburg, Germany, won the Intel® ECA Innovate and Ignite Developers Showcase with a remarkable step toward standardization, customization and upgradeability of Mobile High Definition Video Capture and Transmission.

Until now, HD Video Capture and Transmission has required proprietary video gear that's costly to acquire, maintain and support. For their entry in the Intel® ECA Innovate and Ignite Developers Showcase, MEN Micro Elektronik created a rugged, mobile (body-worn) HD camera system utilizing a general purpose, embedded processing platform built around the Intel® Core™2 Duo processor. This solution combines support for GigE and wireless communications, real-time image processing and embedded graphics in a small form factor; a combination that has not been possible prior to the existence of the Intel Core Duo processor.

The innovative and highly utile camera system brings newfound flexibility to hardware, software and connectivity options previously unavailable in HD camera systems.

MEN Micro Elektronik's HD video capture and transmission system can be rapidly deployed in a variety of environments from military and surveillance to video production and digital cinema.
