Component Functional Testing Levels
Contents
The memory modules listed on the tested memory lists for Intel® desktop board products are categorized according to which level of functional testing was conducted on the memory module. The current testing levels are:
Self Tested
3rd Party Tested
Older Intel® desktop board products were tested under the following criteria:
Full
Advanced
Basic
Important note about these listings

Memory modules are added to the tested memory lists once the memory module has passed the applicable test procedure. Memory modules that are not on these tested memory lists can be used with Intel desktop boards, but in the event of unreliable system operation, the memory modules should be replaced with tested memory modules from the lists to determine whether the unlisted memory modules are causing the problem.

For technical support, contact your place of purchase, which will have the most current information about your specific product or configuration.

Self Tested

The memory module has passed functional testing in accordance with a common test plan that Intel provides to memory vendors. The testing of the memory module may have been conducted by the memory vendor or by Intel using the Intel desktop board.

3rd Party Tested

The memory module has passed a test plan written and performed by a 3rd party test house per the request of the memory vendor with the Intel desktop board. The testing of the memory module is conducted by Computer Memory Test Labs (CMTL), an independent memory test house, CMTL

Full Tested

The memory module has passed electrical and functional testing across the full temperature and voltage specifications for the product, as well as signal quality analysis and vendor specification analysis per the Full Functional Test Procedure for the particular memory module. The testing of the memory module may have been conducted by the vendor or other third party.

Advanced Tested

The memory module has passed Advanced functional testing as specified by Intel, conducted at elevated temperatures to focus on compatibility and interoperability of the memory module with the Intel desktop board product. The testing of the memory module is conducted by Computer Memory Test Labs (CMTL), an independent memory test house, CMTL

Basic Tested

The memory module has passed basic functional testing at ambient temperatures per the Basic Functional Test Procedure for the particular memory module. The testing of the memory module may have been conducted by the vendor or other third party.
