The i960® JX and JT processor series
The i960® JA/JF/JD processor (JX) series and the i960® JS/JC/JT processor (JT) series offer designers a wide range of performance options, with speeds ranging from 16 to 100 MHz. Three package options make these processors well-suited for designs with tight space constraints, with the smallest, the Mini-PBGA, being no larger than a dime. The Mini-PBGA package enables high port densities ideal for space-constrained applications such as remote access, XDSL and hubs. Imaging applications including inkjet and laser printers, and multifunctional peripherals also benefit from designs with these processors.
Upgradeability plays a significant role in system cost and time-to-market. With the i960 JS/JC/JT processors it is possible to have one design that produces over 28 different levels of performance. In addition, the advanced cache architecture in the JS,JC and JT drives a performance boost by reducing the external bus traffic, and accelerating execution of standard software and time critical interrupt routings.
The JS, JC and JT processors are differentiated by their core clock speed and frequency.
  • The JS is single clock version and available in 3 speeds - 16MHz, 25MHz and 33MHz.
  • The i960 JC processor features clock doubling technology. This technology enables the microprocessor to run at speeds up to 66MHz internally while connecting to a lower-cost 33MHz external system. The JC is available in 3 speeds, 16/33, 20/40 25/50 and 33/66.
  • The 100MHz i960 JT processor is clock tripled with a 33MHz external bus.
