Intel® Innovation in Education in Pakistan
Localized Version of Intel® Teach to the Future
A comprehensive teacher-training program has been launched, with the support of Pakistan's Ministry of Science and Technology, to train over 13,000 teachers by the end of 2002. To support the relevance and importance of the national language, the entire program content has been localized for maximum outreach across the country. Each teacher participant receives a certificate of completion, which is endorsed by the Ministry of Education at the provincial level. A gala opening event hosted special guests Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman, Minister of Science and Technology and Christian Morales, Vice President and General Manager, Intel Corporation. The event was attended by more than 250 people, including senior government officials, leading education specialists, teachers, and principals.

Working with Private Schools
A MeetingIntel is working closely with a large private school chain called Aga Khan Education Services. A pilot program was conducted with 20 master teachers. Enthusiasm and interest was high, and soon the entire staff of 400 teachers were trained. The school revamped the entire curriculum, incorporating information technology elements in all subjects. Cross-curricular studies were introduced as well. In this initiative, teachers from different disciplines use the state-of-the art computer labs to come up with new and innovative ways of incorporating IT within their respective subjects.
