Wireless Mobile Training Sets (WMTS)
Intel supplies teacher training in all 16 German states with Wireless Mobile Training Sets (WMTS) that are connected by a wireless network. The WMTS makes it possible to use modern technologies to promote learning anytime and everywhere. Notebook PCs with wireless LAN cards, a projector, an Intel microscope, and an Intel digital camera comprise the WMTS. So far, 50 WMTS have been donated to the German states.
Intel® Teach to the Future
The Intel® Teach to the Future program is fully integrated throughout Germany with more than 100,000 teachers trained. The Academy of Teacher Training, located in Dillingen, adapted the program curriculum. Program implementation is managed in close cooperation with education ministries, education institutes, New Media Centers, teacher academies and universities, as well as New Media initiatives of the federal states. To facilitate the organization of the large numbers of participants, essential information and logistics are housed in a centralized database. The database/Web site also hosts the best teacher projects created during and after the training. The independent Institute for Education in the Information Society at TU Berlin runs the evaluation aspects of the program.
Intel International Science and Engineering Fair
Intel Germany supports the local science fair Jugend Forscht. Two winners of the national contest participated in the 2002 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in the United States.

- Intel Teach to the Future has been implemented in all 16 German states as a public-private Partnership model with the government.
- Intel Teach to the Future is ranked as the #1 training program in Germany.
- Intel Teach to the Future was awarded the "D21 Label of Quality" in October 2000.
- Because of the success of the Intel Teach to the Future program, the goal is now to have 200,000 teachers trained by the end of the academic year 2002-03. This is a significant increase from the original goal of having 120,00 teachers trained.

Three higher education initiatives take the spotlight in Germany. In February 2002, the Intel Net Business Lab opened at Technical University (TU) of Berlin. The main emphasis of the business lab lies in the research and development of models, methods, and application systems in the area of e-business. The goal of the program is to promote the integration of young graduates and engineers into the enterprise process.
A second key initiative is the Intel Internet Laboratory (I-Lab) at TU Munich. Launched at the beginning of 2001, the aim of research is the development of trend-setting projects for the high-tech industry. The research project is conducted by a multinational team of students, under the management of university professors.
Intel has also supported the technological high school Zwickau in the implementation of an e-business innovation center (e-BIC). This very modern facility is used for the education of IT specialists.
