Arista Networks Takes on Cisco and Others

Arista Again Looks to Buck Cisco, Others in Data Center

Editor Pick: Arista Networks has rolled out four switches and enhanced software for cloud environments, competing directly with Cisco and others in the delivery of data center infrastructure convergence products. Among the new switches are a 16-port 40 Gbps Ethernet switch targeted at top-of-rack "spine" applications that connect server racks to the network core. In addition Arista 7050Q-16 can connect to eight ports of 1/10G Ethernet small-factor pluggable (SFP) interfaces. The new switches make it easier for IT managers to migrate data centers to 10 GbE networking and include solid-state drives for logging and local storage.
