NCH Corporation Gets Resource Planning Performance and Reduces Costs
Intel® processors help NCH Corporation avoid USD 5.5 million in expenditures and increase enterprise resource planning performance 300 percent
Serving businesses and individuals across the globe, NCH Corporation produces a broad array of products for industrial cleaning and maintenance, water treatment, plumbing, pet care, and more. In business since 1919, the company today has representatives in more than 50 countries and five continents.
NCH needed to refresh an aging RISC-based infrastructure used for running its Oracle* enterprise resource planning (ERP) environment. The company needed to accelerate a variety of financial tasks, including balancing the books at the end of each month, while avoiding high infrastructure acquisition and annual maintenance costs.
The NCH team replaced a large number of RISC-based systems with Dell PowerEdge* servers equipped with the Intel® Xeon® processor 7500 series. “Intel Xeon processors deliver the performance and large-scale memory we need to run complex financial processes rapidly and cost-effectively,” says David Kennedy, director of infrastructure at NCH Corporation.
Refreshing with Intel processor–based systems helped NCH avoid significant expenditures. “We reduced our technology refresh spending by USD 5.5 million,” says Kennedy. The processors also increased performance substantially.
NCH plans to replace the rest of its RISC infrastructure with the Intel® Xeon® processor E7 family.
