Intel® Technology Boosts Performance of Scientific Applications
The case study looks at how CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, uses the Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2630L to boost the performance of its scientific research applications.
CERN’s IT team assessed the performance of core applications on multiple platforms and determined platforms powered by the Intel Xeon processor E5-2630L deliver a 20-percent performance increase over its previous platform.
The platform provides data processing with higher throughput to empower scientific research. The platform’s increased performance using the same level of power allows CERN’s data center to run more efficiently.
