Professional Development
Intel works with NGOs, governments, and educational institutions to equip educators and policymakers to implement rich STEM curriculums.
Coinciding with the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) each year, the Intel® Educator Academy brings together government officials and educators from around the world to participate in interactive workshops about science fairs and STEM education. During the five-day event, outstanding educators present workshops on student research, project-based learning and other proven ways to engage students.
Regional educator academies support the goal of improving STEM education and science fair participation. In 2010, Intel held the first annual Asia Science Educator Academy in Korea with delegates from over 13 countries. Participants meet to develop action plans, share best practices, create networks, build partnerships and enhance STEM education in the region.
Intel® Educate Future Scientists is a two-day interactive workshop designed to help teachers understand how to create inquiry-based lesson plans in science to encourage problem solving, discovery, exploratory learning, innovation, and creativity. The program helps teachers facilitate scientific inquiry from the classroom to the science fair.
