From conception to execution of Aqueous Mass—the brainchild of New York-based architect firm Gage / Clemenceau—we see how the Ultrabook™ installation became fixtures in W Hotels around the world, including at the W Sentosa in Singapore, W Leicester in London, W New York, W Opera in Paris, W Hong Kong, and W San Francisco. In this video, we follow the ideation process at the studios of Gage / Clemenceau, and witness fabrication challenges and solutions at FLATCUT's shop in New Jersey. Creative technologists James Sears and Nick Cousins of interactive design firm Cousins & Sears explain how the installation works—its lights flickering in response to human movement—all powered by Intel-inspired Ultrabook devices.
