Before You Buy an Intel® SSD 750 Series
The PCI Express* (PCIe*) Intel® Solid State Drive (Intel® SSD) 750 Series is based on new technology developments including NVMe*. Successful use of the Intel® SSD as a boot device requires new hardware and new drivers, including operating system installation.

Two versions of hardware are available:

| Intel® SSD 750 Series Add-in Card (AIC), also called HHHL (half height, half length). The HHHL comes with the full height bracket installed. The half-height bracket is in the box. | ![]() | ||
| Intel® SSD 750 Series 2.5-inch 15 mm height drive An SFF-8639 connector is included. For the PCIe mini-SAS HD, you need an SFF-8643 connector.

Basic requirements
To use as a bootable drive, you need:
- A system based on an Intel® Z97 Chipset or an Intel® X99 Chipset
- uEFI BIOS settings enabled with NVMe support (latest BIOS updates)
- Airflow across the drive to provide cooling, such as a front fan and rear fan
- An available PCIe 3.0 or 2.0 connector (for HHHL SSD) or a PCIe-capable Mini-SAS HD connector (SFF-8643) for the 2.5 inch SSD (SAS signals not supported)
- Microsoft Windows 7*, 8*, or 8.1* operating system
- NVMe driver installed – follow instructions in the boot guide
To use as a secondary data drive, you need:
- System with x4 PCIe connector
- We suggest a system based on an Intel® Z97 Chipset or an Intel® X99 Chipset
- uEFI BIOS
- Airflow across the drive to provide cooling, such as a front fan and rear fan
- An available PCIe 3.0 or 2.0 connector (for HHHL SSD) or a PCIe-capable Mini-SATA HD connector (SFF-8643) for the 2.5-inch SSD
- Microsoft Windows 7*, 8*, or 8.1* operating system
- NVMe driver installed after OS boot
