Intel® Processor Identification Utility - Total Processor Count Doesn't Match System Configuration

When the total number of logical threads for a platform exceeds 32, there is a known limitation in identifying the number of processors in a system when using version 4.50 of the Intel® Processor Identification Utility. Version 4.55 fixes this issue.

Example:

  • On a four-way Intel® Xeon® E5-4650 server with Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology (Intel® HT Technology), information is reported for only two of the four physical processors. For this example, each processor has 8-cores and Intel® HT Technology is enabled.
  • On the same system, with Intel® HT Technology disabled, the utility correctly indicates the system has four processors.
