Add and Connect Devices Using Bluetooth® Technology

Windows 7*
  1. Discover the device:
    1. Turn on the device with Bluetooth® technology, and put it into the discoverable state. See your device user manual for instructions.
    2. At the bottom of the computer screen, click the Bluetooth tray icon, and click Add a Device. The search process shows all devices with Bluetooth technology found in range of the computer.
  2. Pair and establish a secure link with the device:
    1. In the Add a device window, double-click your device, and click Next. Depending on the device type and security settings, you might be prompted to pair to the device. Most devices with Bluetooth technology require authentication, or pairing, to allow a connection before you can search for services.
    2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm that the secret PIN codes are the same, and then click Next. The PIN codes must be the same in order to pair. You might be prompted to confirm the PIN code on the device as well. A message in the Add a Device window confirms a successful pairing. To see the added device, click Start > Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  3. Connect your device to service:
    1. Click the Bluetooth tray icon, and click Show Bluetooth Devices.
    2. Double-click your device to open the services window. Select from the services offered, such as Browse Remote Folder or Listen to Music.

    1. Turn on the device with Bluetooth® technology and put it into the discoverable state. See your device user manual for instructions.
    2. At the bottom of the computer screen, click the Bluetooth tray icon, and click Add a Device.
  2. Pair and establish a secure link with the device:
    1. Select the desired device. Depending on the device type and security settings, you might be prompted to pair to the device.
    2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm that the secret PIN codes are the same. The PIN codes must be the same in order to pair. You might be prompted to confirm the PIN code on the device as well.
