Identify Your Intel® Ethernet Adapter in Windows*

Select your operating system from the choices below. Follow the steps listed under Control Panel, My Computer, or Start Menu to identify your adapter.

Note

Start by downloading the latest driver if you don't know which Ethernet adapter you have.
Choose your Windows* version from the drivers and software list. Downloads cover most Intel® Ethernet Adapters and install the latest drivers.
Without an installed driver, the procedures below will not identify your adapter.

 

Click or the operating system for details:

Windows 7*

Control Panel

  1. Click Start > Control Panel.
  2. Click System and Security.
  3. Under System, click Device Manager.
  4. Click the pointer symbol in front of Network Adapters to expand the section.
  5. Right-click the network adapter.
  6. Click Properties.
  7. Click the Link Speed tab to see the Intel® PROSet version. If Intel® PROSet isn't installed, then the Link Speed tab doesn't display.

My Computer

  1. Click Start > Computer.
  2. Click System properties.
  3. Click Device Manager.
  4. Click the pointer symbol in front of Network Adapters to expand the section.
  5. Right-click the network adapter.
  6. Click Properties.
  7. Click the Link Speed tab to see the Intel® PROSet version. If Intel® PROSet isn't installed, then the Link Speed tab doesn't display.
Windows 8*/8.1*

Start Menu

  1. Right-click the Start Menu Button.
  2. Click Device Manager.
  3. Click the pointer symbol in front of Network Adapters to expand the section.
  4. Right-click the network adapter.
  5. Click Properties.
  6. Click the Link Speed tab to see the Intel® PROSet version. If Intel® PROSet isn't installed, then the Link Speed tab doesn't display.

If drivers are already installed, then the Intel® Device Update Utility can also automatically find the latest drivers.
