Note

Without an installed driver, the procedure below will not identify your adapter.

If your Ethernet adapter is unknown, try downloading the latest driver:

  1. Use Intel® Device Update Utility to automatically identify and find the latest drivers.
  2. To manually update your driver, choose your Windows* version from the drivers and software list.
Downloads cover most Intel® Ethernet Adapters and install the latest drivers.

See information about network adapters and drivers in the network adapter property sheet in Windows 7*.

Use the "Control panel" or "My computer" methods below to access Windows Device Manager for information on the network adapter, driver version, and Intel® PROSet version.

Control panel

  1. Click Start > Control Panel.
  2. Click System and Security.
  3. Under System, click Device Manager.

  2. Click System properties.
  3. Click Device Manager.
  4. Click the pointer symbol in front of Network Adapters to expand the section.
