Intel® Rapid Storage Technology Enterprise (Intel® RSTe) Might Not Properly Handle System Time Changes

Last Reviewed: 16-Mar-2016

When running a configuration where there is heavy I/O while the system time changes, the platform can become unresponsive. In some extreme cases, a system crash can occur, or the volume is marked as degraded. The system rebuilds and recovers after a system reboot.

This issue is resolved with the 3.8.1111 driver release. You can update the driver alone, and it is possible to update the driver in the operating system OS.

Note Update your BIOS to get the full benefits of the RSTe 3.8 update. This version includes Pre-OS, or OpROM, components. The Pre-OS components are installed with a system board BIOS or firmware update.
