Legacy operating systems

The following operating systems were supported by Intel® Matrix Storage Manager. Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) doesn't support them.

Windows 2000 Advanced Server*

  • Intel Matrix Storage Manager v7.0 is the last version that supports this operating system.
  • Windows 2000 Advanced Server support is not available for mobile platforms supported by Intel RST (previously known as Intel Matrix Storage Manager).

Windows 2000 Professional*

  • Intel Matrix Storage Manager v5.7 is the last version that supports this operating system.
  • Windows 2000 Professional support is not available for chipsets beginning with the Intel® 82801HR/HH/HO I/O controller hub (ICH8R).
Linux*

The kernel provides the RAID level support. The utilities support the Intel® Matrix Storage Manager metadata format.

To use the RAID features in dmraid and mdadm, set up the RAID volume using the Intel Matrix Storage Manager option ROM. To enter the option ROM user interface, click CTRL I when prompted during boot.

Instructions on how to use the RAID features in dmraid and mdadm are included with Linux. This information is provided as a courtesy by Intel. Contact your Linux vendor for additional questions and support.
