Memory configuration notes

  • The Intel® Server Board S3420GP has six DDR3 memory slots
  • The Intel® Server Board S3420GPV has four memory slots
  • Only use UDIMMs, not RDIMMs, with Intel® Core™ Duo Processors or Intel® Pentium® Processors
  • The Intel Server Board S3420GPV requires BIOS 46 or later to support RDIMMs

Unsupported configurations

The following configurations are not validated, supported, or recommended:

  • Mixing RDIMMs and UDIMMs
  • Mixing memory type, size, speed, and/or rank
  • Mixing memory vendors
  • Non-ECC memory
