MicroStrategy was looking for ways to improve their customers’ overall experience with their Intelligent Cube* technology by reducing data cube load times, and increasing the number of active users. MicroStrategy wanted to test the impact of replacing traditional hard disk drives (HDD) with the Intel® Solid-State Drive Data Center S3700 Series to improve overall I/O performance and user experience.
• Limited data cube load times. Existing hard disk drives did not sufficiently allow data cubes to load quickly within a limited data preparation window before business hours.
• More active users needed. MicroStrategy needed to improve disk I/O bottlenecks so more active users could use the popular Intelligent Cube* dashboard feature (History List*) at the same time.
