Wilfred Pinfold is the Director of Extreme Scale Programs and runs the Government Programs Office at Intel Labs. The Government Programs Office is a small team specializing in Technology Innovation Agreements and Cooperative Agreements for advanced research conducted under Other Transactions with the Federal Government.
Wilfred received his BSc. Naval Architecture, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow and his PhD Numerical Hydrodynamics also from the University of Strathclyde. He joined Intel Supercomputer Systems Division in 1992 and since then has held positions in applications development, marketing, strategy and research. He recently managed the DARPA advanced Exascale program in Ubiquitous High Performance Computing (UHPC). He completed the Stanford Executive Program in 1999, has held positions on the Board of Directors of DCS, Board of advisors of Cooperative Software Initiative (CSI) and Board of Trustees of Oregon College of Art and Craft (OCAC). He holds an adjunct professorship at Portland State University in the Business School and is on the Portland Citizens Technology Oversight Council.
