Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1200 Family Datasheet, Vol. 1
The Intel® Xeon® processor E3-1200 family is the next generation of 64-bit, multi-core desktop processor built on 32- nanometer process technology. Based on a new micro-architecture, the processor is designed for a two-chip platform consisting of a processor and Platform Controller Hub (PCH). The platform enables higher performance, lower cost, easier validation, and improved x-y footprint. The processor includes Integrated Display Engine, Processor Graphics, PCI Express* ports, and Integrated Memory Controller. The processor is designed for server/workstation platforms. It supports up to 12 Processor Graphics execution units (EUs) and a range of PCIe configurations. The processor is offered in an 1155-land LGA package. Figure 1-1 shows an example server/workstation platform block diagram.
This document provides DC electrical specifications, signal integrity, differential signaling specifications, pinout and signal definitions, interface functional descriptions, thermal specifications, and additional feature information pertinent to the implementation and operation of the processor on its respective platform.
