Enterprise Video Hosting: Introducing the Intel® Video Portal

Intel IT developed an enterprise video hosting solution in order to meet the needs of employees who wanted to create and share videos, but were unable to do so effectively with currently available resources.

Intel is a large global company, with over 100,000 employees in 164 sites, spread across 63 countries. The majority of our employees work on virtual teams, collaborating with team members at a variety of locations. To support our culture of collaboration and ensure the free flow of information, we are always looking for new ways to enable our employees to be more productive and increase job satisfaction.

We wanted to expand our communication channels beyond the traditional communication methods, such as email, conference calls, and shared written documents. In addition to using internal blogs, wikis, and forums, our employees also wanted to be able to create and share videos with each other, adding another communication and collaboration tool to our toolbox. Supported by consumerization and the availability of small form factors in the enterprise, almost anyone now can quickly and easily create a video.
