Intel’s Home Health reference designs are extremely versatile and flexible solutions designed to accelerate the development of low-power, low-cost, high-performance platforms. These health gateway designs connect to remote servers, through various WAN interfaces. They feature the Intel® Atom™ processor E6xx series and Realtek RTL8954C IOH*. These platforms meet the requirements of advanced home health applications by providing application processing performance, scalability, and enhanced graphics performance.
The low-power and small form factor design of the Intel Atom E6xx processor enables OEMs and system integrators to create sleek and fanless hardware platforms, designed for integration within the home. Intel® architecture also provides software developers with the resources they need to create differentiated interactive human interfaces based on advanced graphical design technologies.
In this series, we provide two designs:
Providing maximum scalability, these designs allow OEMs to position their tele-health solutions from low- to high-end. The Home Health Low Cost Design #2 targets a basic low-end design, combining the Intel Atom processor at 600 MHz with a USB controller and Flash. Increase performance easily by scaling up to the Intel Atom processor at 1.0 GHz, 1.3 GHz, or by populating the 2nd and 3rd PCI link to meet feature level requirements. Home Health Design #1 provides additional I/O flexibility with the Realtek IOH. Refer to the following table for a comparison of requirements between the two designs.
