Intel® Gateway Solutions for the Internet of Things Development Kits

Speed innovation for new devices and maintain interoperability with legacy systems

Intelligent gateways perform a vital role in the Internet of Things (IoT) by collecting sensor data at the network edge, then acting as a filter to analyze and normalize the data for sharing through the network and into the cloud.

Intel is developing a family of gateway solutions for IoT that enables connectivity between new and legacy devices by integrating technologies for networking, embedded control, enterprise-grade security, and easy manageability.

Development kits will be available from a number of embedded board manufacturers including ADI*, Advantech*, ADLink*, Eurotech*, Portwell* and Vantron*, with solutions designed to meet the requirements of specific IoT market segments.

Intel® Gateway Solutions for the Internet of Things development kits help you quickly develop, prototype, and deploy intelligent gateways that meet emerging IoT market requirements. The kits also maintain interoperability between new intelligent infrastructure and legacy systems, including sensors and datacenter servers.

The kits include pre-integrated and pre-validated hardware and software from Intel, McAfee, and Wind River, helping you reduce time-to-market and development costs.

Features of the kits include:

  • Standards-based interfaces for I/O, cellular, and Wi-Fi simplify communications: down to sensors and controllers and up to datacenters and the cloud.
  • McAfee Embedded Control* 6.1 maximizes security by dynamically monitoring and managing whitelists.
  • Wind River Intelligent Device Platform* XT 2.1 and Wind River Workbench* provide a proven development environment.
  • Kits are complete with fully-configured compute board, wireless communications, security software, operating system, development tools, chassis, power supply, antennas, and documentation.
