Starting the process
There’s no getting around the fact that implementing large-scale projects like 1:1 eLearning requires a huge amount of planning, preparation, and commitment. It’s important to understand all of the pieces of the puzzle that go into a successful implementation – and be mindful of potential pitfalls that can stall the process.
The following steps, explored in greater detail in the Intel eLearning Deployment Guide, will provide a view into the scope of decision-making required. We encourage you to download the guide, as it contains worksheets, activities, and sample documents that can streamline the documentation process.
Preparation
- Define a vision: What do you want from eLearning? (goals, both tangible and intangible)
- Determine project requirements: What do various stakeholders need from eLearning? (includes students, teachers, parents, administrators)
- What are the constraints: Are there limitations on the current tech infrastructure? If so, how will they be addressed?
- Define standards, identify assessment criteria: How will you know it “worked”? What measurable success are you trying to achieve?
Planning
- Components (hardware, software, content, training, and tech support)
