Taiwan Contest Generates Innovative Designs
Creative teams from three different universities captured the top prizes in the 2014 Taiwan Intelligent Systems Design Contest.
A smart elevator system developed by students from National Chiao Tung University won first prize with a smart elevator system. Based upon the Intel® Galileo board, the system’s smart technology resolves some of the shortcomings of conventional elevators to save energy.
Second prize went to the team from Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. They developed a stereoscopic stethoscope that helps medical personnel diagnose heart issues more effectively.
Nan Kai University of Technology students placed third with an Intel® Galileo board-based smart anti-theft car system utilizing a smart phone app in conjunction with RFID.
