The 2012 Intel Cup Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest had 160 teams from 76 universities in 12 countries competing. Participants came from China mainland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, India, Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina, Russia and the United States.
In addition to the overall winner—Improving Communication Ability of the Disabled from the Chinese University of Hong Kong—there were 13 teams in the first place category (listed below), 27 in second and 56 in third.
