Enhance Learning with Client-aware Cloud Solutions

In the current budget-constrained environment, schools are turning to bring-your-own-mobile device (BYOD) approaches to improve access to technology. BYOD refers to students bringing their own technology like smartphones, tablets, and laptops to school for educational use. Having students bring a variety of devices presents challenges to assuring high-quality learning experiences. A client-aware cloud can help optimize service delivery and improve the learner's experience.

BYOD to school has gained much traction and holds great hope for real school transformation when driven by an overarching vision, aligned goals, and strategic action plans.

Recognizing the important part that BYOD and cloud can play in education environments, Intel education experts are available to provide technology advice.

In a recent online survey, schools were asked: Is encouraging student-owned technology educationally VALUABLE or just a cost-saving necessity?

  • 61.74% said IT'S A GREAT IDEA: Letting students bring their own devices offers real advantages that go beyond the cost-savings.
  • 28.86% said IT'S A NECESSARY EVIL: We're doing/considering it because it's the only way we can afford 1:1 right now.
  • 9.40% said IT'S A NO-NO: We won't do BYO even if it does save the school money.
