New solution to a common problem
A Fortune 100 global manufacturer faced a problem common to many enterprises. IT complexity and costs were steadily increasing, in part because the company had multiple instances of its ERP application running on a diverse set of architecture. The company issued an RFP, seeking a solution provider that could help. The manufacturer eventually chose CSC, a global leader in the IT and professional services industry, to undertake the transformation initiative.
The manufacturer’s goal was to reduce the overall complexity of its IT environment, reduce the number of instances in its ERP environment, and standardize on an architecture that could be used as a foundation for years to come.
“The company had an opportunity to choose an entirely new platform,” said Patricia Murphy, director of client services at CSC. “They were looking for an innovative approach that would lower their costs today and give them the agility they need to meet their future needs.”
