Investing in Arizona
Intel established a presence in Arizona in 1979 and began operations in Chandler the following year. With about 11,700 employees, Intel Arizona is the company’s second largest site in the U.S. and the largest employer in Chandler. Intel’s average annual economic impact in Arizona tops $2.4 billion, including more than 20,000 non-Intel jobs resulting from the company’s presence in the state.

Intel’s Environmental Stewardship
In 2011, Intel became the first semiconductor company to obtain Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for existing buildings for its entire Chandler manufacturing campus, which includes wafer fabrication plants and manufacturing support buildings.

Intel in the Community
In 2013, Intel employees, Intel Corp. and the Intel Foundation gave more than $12.7 million in grants, donations, and in-kind gifts to local schools, universities, non-profits, and the Valley of the Sun United Way. About 5,000 Intel Arizona employees volunteered 156,000 hours in local schools and non-profit organizations.
