A 2011 investigation from Australia’s New South Wales Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research states, “In 2010, laptops were the second most stolen object type in household burglary incidents with a laptop being taken in one in four break-ins. This is a substantial rise from 2001 when they were ranked 21st and stolen in just over one in 20 burglaries.”
