Client to Cloud: The Computing Explosion on Intel® Architecture

As Brazil becomes the 3rd largest consumption country of PCs, the demand for computing continues to grow.  Intel’s core transistor technology is unparalleled and Intel’s ability to deliver transistors at lower and lower cost will enable new experiences from the client to the cloud.  Intel will show how developers can take advantage of Intel® Architecture & software opportunities in phones, Ultrabooks™ and across the datacenter to create new and innovative experiences.  Intel is partnering with Brazil to accelerate and enable these experiences through tools and programs that help deliver a great developer experience.

Kirk Skaugen

General Manager, PC Client Group

Kirk Skaugen is corporate vice president and general manager of the PC Client Group for Intel Corporation. With over 1 million PCs shipping globally per day, Skaugen is leading Intel's efforts in once again transforming the personal computer industry with the Ultrabook™. He heads the platform planning, architecture, enabling, and marketing of Intel's solutions for mobile and desktop computing. Skaugen manages the consumer and business client P&Ls which includes the Intel® Core™ family of processors, client chipsets, motherboards, and wireless computing solutions.

Prior to this role, Skaugen led Intel's Datacenter and Connected Systems Group, responsible for the business P&Ls, strategy, and product development for datacenter, cloud computing, communications infrastructure, and intelligent connected device platforms. This included the Intel® Xeon® and Itanium® processors, server chipsets, Intel's wired networking for Ethernet and Thunderbolt™, server motherboards, and related software and services.

Doug Fisher

Systems Software Division

Doug Fisher is corporate vice president and general manager of the Software and Services Group's (SSG) Systems Software Division. He leads a worldwide organization responsible for Intel's efforts in software product development, enabling and architecture analysis. His responsibilities span a broad range of efforts that includes pre-boot firmware, operating systems (Windows, MeeGo, Android, Chrome OS, OS X, and Solaris), virtualization, middleware software, and platform performance and power projections. In addition, Fisher recently assumed responsibility for SSG product planning and program management.
