Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using CD-adapco STAR-CD*
Benchmark description
STAR-CD* is a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) solver for performing simulations involving multi-physics and complex geometries. Metrics: elapsed time to complete simulation converted to throughput metric. Higher bars indicate better performance throughput. See www.cd-adapco.com/ for more information.

CFD performance on STAR-CD* workloads
Comparison based on 4S Intel® Xeon® processor X7560 based server platform compared to an existing baseline 2S Intel® Xeon® processor X5670 based server platform. Source: Testing completed onsite by Intel labs and reviewed/approved by CD-adapco as of March 29, 2010. Single-node workloads: a-class and c-class single and double precision, solver elapsed time, geomean of the 4 cases, solver time removes I/O impact for a more precise comparison. Run to convergence for a-class and to iteration 500 for c-class.
