Benchmark description for small business benchmarks

A small or medium business will typically run several server applications simultaneously, such as e-mail, web, and database. This workload averages the median of three runs using WebBench*, DVD Store* Version 2, and Microsoft Exchange Load Generator* (LoadGen) to represent the applications most commonly run by small businesses. The performance of three Intel® Xeon® and Core™ processor-based systems were normalized to the 1.0 performance baseline of an Intel® Core™2 Duo E6400 processor-based system.

2. Relative performance for each benchmark is calculated by taking the actual benchmark result for the first platform tested and assigning it a value of 1.0 as a baseline. Relative performance for the remaining platforms tested was calculated by dividing the actual benchmark result for the baseline platform into each of the specific benchmark results of each of the other platforms and assigning them a relative performance number that correlates with the performance improvements reported.


3.
