China TSP, GAIG create IVI Product Based on the Intel® Atom™ Processor

China TSP and GAIG (Guangzhou Automobile Industry Group Co., LTD) announced that they are jointly developing telematics products and are offering an in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system based on the Intel® Atom™ processor and a Linux operating system.

The IVI system uses the performance of the Intel Atom processor to incorporate a variety of entertainment and connectivity options. Features include: telecommunication (3G phone, contacts synchronization between phone and IVI system, SMS), navigation (local, one-call, real-time traffic and dynamic navigation), entertainment (music, video, radio, and pictures), safety and security (car condition display, SOS, airbag exploration emergency) and ease of interaction (voice recognition, audible readout of text messages, call transfer and SMS sent-out via call center).
