Community involvement

Intel's volunteer commitment
Intel employees contribute many volunteer hours each year through the Intel Involved program, which coordinates local education programs and community service projects. In 2006, Intel employees reported nearly 2000 volunteer hours and 20 percent employee participation.

Intel Involved education activities include National Engineers Week, an annual middle school classroom visitation, Capital BEST, Introduce a Girl to Engineering (UT), the local food bank, participated in environmental projects, and more.

Intel encourages employees to take an active role in education activities by matching volunteer hours with cash awards to schools. The Intel Foundation made unrestricted cash grants of USD 10,000 to local schools in 2006.

Intel employees also volunteered at the Capital Area Food Bank, KRLU pledge drive, collected fans for donation to seniors, and supported local families during the holidays through the Adopt-a-Family program.
