Health and Wellbeing Program at Intel

In 2005 Intel announced its new Health and Wellbeing Program aiming to increase employee awareness of health and to provide tools and access that assist the employee in improving their health and wellbeing.

One of the events included in the program was a voluntary on-site flu vaccination in Moscow, St.Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Sarov and Novosibirsk. The flu vaccination, organized and sponsored by Intel, helped to prevent the seasonal outbreak of influenza among Intel employees, to save time going to the local hospitals as well as to save the employees the extra expense. This event became pretty popular among employees—about 40 percent of the office population were vaccinated in 2006 endorsing the trend seen in 2005.

Within the framework of the Health and Wellbeing Program Intel employees were also offered 2 sessions of virtual seminars on "Work-Life Balance: How to reduce stress" led by the Health & Wellbeing Team. The participants were able to learn what choices we have when faced with change, how to modify responses to stress and manage energy that we have. The program offers access to solid web-based materials helping to understand better the origin of some personal diseases as well as the ways of recovering.

Intel Russia educates employees and guests on safety

Intel has a comprehensive Environmental, Health and Safety program that is now being implemented across all Russia sites. Program development serves to increase safety awareness among employees and contractors as well as community members. One such program teaches employees how to organize their workplace ergonomically; this program is used not only in the office but extends to the employees' homes and can be shared with family members and even college students and interns who work at site.
