"The experiences and skills students gain from this program will help build their confidence and potentially inspire them to pursue a future career in a science related field."
Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve staff and Intel volunteers/mentors will work with one fourth grade class from each of three different local elementary schools: Fernhill in Forest Grove, plus W. L. Henry and Peter Boscow in Hillsboro. Each school will receive five traveling programs, one field–based program, and the opportunity for students from each classroom to attend a week-long "Intel Spring into Science Camp" in March, 2008.
"Environmental stewardship is of great importance to Intel Oregon," said Janet Rash, Community Relations Manger at Intel Oregon. "Helping young people learn about the natural environment will surely create more responsible adults who care about the communities where they live and work."
