Intel Computer Clubhouse: Intel Computer Clubhouse: Intel has partnered with two organizations to provide technology clubs for kids in the Portland-metro area. Computer Clubhouses are now open at Beaverton Police Activities League and the Salvation Army Moore Center.
Intel Oregon Information Center: Tours and hands-on computer exploration are available for school field trips. Intel even subsidizes the cost of the school buses. Teachers can register for a tour online at http://www.intel.com/community/tour/oregon/index.htm.
Job Shadows: Students spend 3-4 hours visiting Intel and exploring high tech careers. Job Shadow opportunities are posted on the BEC's Business Education Links Web site. Students should check with the school-to-work coordinator at their high school for more information.
National Engineers and Technician's Month: Over 200 volunteers provide classroom presentations and hands-on activities to excite students about high-tech careers.
Intel Northwest Science Exposition: Intel funds this event and supplies over 100 judges and volunteers to offer students from across Oregon the opportunity to showcase their science projects and compete for scholarships and other prizes.
ORTOP: Intel is the name sponsor of the Oregon state tournament for the FIRST Lego League. Over 3,000 Oregon students age 9 – 14 have joined a Lego team and compete in a regional or state level. To learn more, visit www.ortop.org
