Intel has a long history of encouraging students to pursue higher education and supporting them in their endeavors. Since 1999, Intel Oregon has provided $1.5 million in scholarships to Oregon students earning engineering or applied science degrees at Oregon public universities. The students are selected by their universities based on their achievements, with special consideration given for under-represented students.

In July 2009, 13 students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree were selected as Intel Scholars. Intel congratulates them on their accomplishments, confident that when they combine their talent, education and energy, they will be sure to make their mark on the nation's greatest challenges.
