Intel purchased the land for campus development in 1974 and opened the first Aloha facility, Fab 4, in 1976. Fab 4 has since been decommissioned.
Fab 15, located at the Aloha campus, was subsequently converted from a Flash memory manufacturing facility to a consolidated 300-mm C4/Sort manufacturing and technology development facility. The shift, which involved an investment of $400 million, saved an outdated facility and Oregon jobs.
