On April 26th, 1997 the first stone of Intel Costa Rica was placed. Immediately, the talent of 500 Costa Ricans started the operations of the company in our country. Today, more than 3,200 employees are in charge of several services and responsibilities.

In La Ribera de Belén, in Heredia, microprocessors are assembled and tested to export worldwide, electronic circuits are designed, researches are carried out, financial services are lent for all the Corporation, and there are in place unique corporate social responsibility programs, in the areas of education, environment and quality of life.

Besides our campus of 52 hectares in Belén, Intel Costa Rica also has offices located in Ultrapark, in the Aurora of Heredia (five minutes from the main site), where IT services are performed.

Since its arrival to country, Intel has become a catalyst for foreign direct investments for Costa Rica, and this nation passed from an average of $307 million from 1992-1996, to $512 million from 1997 - 2000, and to $592 million from 2001 and 2001.

Intel Costa Rica has been characterized for being an asset to the community, the country and the Corporation and it is positioned as the server site, because our site produces 99% of all the chips for servers of the Corp.

Its positioning has marked important milestones, and thus the most powerful computer of the world -HP Superdome- uses processors that are only produced in this Central American country.
