Intel iWorld Program
Intel Chairman Craig Barrett met with Sichuan provincial government officials on June 23 to launch the “iWorld” Program, an effort focused on rebuilding and restoring services in areas devastated by the Sichuan earthquake. The program will place heavy emphasis on getting students back into school.
Intel Volunteer Activities
Intel is committed to giving back to the community. Our community service focuses on the integration of technology into education, environmental protection and safety. Former U.S. President George W. Bush presented the President’s Volunteer Service Award to Intel CEO Paul Otellini at the White House. Intel has more than 6,000 employees in China, and 75% of them are actively involved in Intel volunteer activities and contributed 78,000 hours of volunteer service in 2008.
