Media Samples
The Intel® Integrated Performance Primitives (Intel® IPP) 5.0 media processing samples have been refreshed to add new support for H.264 codec development and to simplify media application development through the use of new Unified Media Classes (UMC).

The UMC is a set of unified C++ interfaces for building the standard blocks of a media application, including codecs, renders, splitters, and much more.

With this media processing sample, five different UMC-based applications (see below) are included to demonstrate supported media features with Intel IPP 5.0.

Applications
Features
Simple Player
A multi-format video player using Intel IPP 5.0 audio/video coding functions, and image and signal processing functions for multi platforms. It supports:
  • Video: H.264, H.263, H.261, Motion JPEG, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, and DV.
  • Audio: MP3, AAC, and AC3.
Video Encoder
A video encoder application using Intel IPP 5.0 video coding functions, and image and signal processing functions. It supports:
  • H.264, MPEG-4, and MPEG-2.
Reverberation Demo
(Windows* Only)
A GUI application using the UMC Reverberation Filter to play mono or stereo WAV files using the reverberator.
Virtual Multi-Channel Audio Player (Windows Only)
A simple “virtual theater system” demo using Intel IPP's UMC Sound 3D filter Audio Render AC3 and AAC decoders to play with multi-channel audio streams.
Audio Codec Console Application

A command-line audio codec application for multiple platforms using Intel IPP audio coding and signal processing functions. It supports:
  • MP3
  • AAC
  • AC3
