Performance
Intel® SOA Expressway is optimized for Intel multi-core architecture and based on Intel’s patented XML processing technology.

Several XML and SOA deployments using this technology with Service mediation, SOA Integration and SOA/XML Security Gateway usage patterns have been accelerated 10-80 times.

The Intel® SOA Expressway is designed to protect against content-based threats, ensure data integrity, data privacy, perform multi-level mediations (transport, data format and security) without burdening the SOA-based applications.

This performance paper is an abridged version of detailed benchmark document available from the Library. This paper is the result of Intel commissioned primary research performed by PushToTest introduces a new soft-appliance approach to building Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) services, and provides a methodology to evaluate the Intel® SOA Expressway runtime for SOA performance, security and scalability. A few excerpts from this research:

"PushToTest observed Intel SOA Expressway performance above 5,000 transactions per second (TPS) in a variety of demanding use cases. This is on par with published reports of competing enterprise-grade SOA transformation and routing appliances."

"…the soft-appliance form factor combines software flexibility and extensibility with appliance performance and management, a rare combination. Intel SOA Expressway is a unique way to put Moore’s law to work to improve SOA performance and scalability."

Low latency and high performance across business applications are key issues for financial firms as they strive to keep pace with regulatory demands, maintain efficiencies and increase data volumes. We are particularly pleased with the accelerated performance we have achieved with DataTrans deployed with Intel’s XML & SOA acceleration technology, SOA Expressway.
